These are Pecan Tassies. It is a "go to" recipe of mine, but so much more than that. It is comfort food. These little pastries say welcome, farewell, cheers, and made with love. While I also have Asian coleslaw (the one with Ramen noodles), crescent roll cocktail wieners, and Caprese salad skewers in my quick recipe arsenal, the tassies are my dessert of choice. They are often requested by friends, family and acquaintances who have experienced their yum factor.
They taste like mini pecan pies, but there is nothing special or fancy about the recipe. As a matter of fact, it came from a Pampered Chef party I attended years ago, and utilized many of the items for purchase at said event. You can still find it on their website should you choose to recreate for yourself (see link below).
My point is that they are not bakery or store-bought perfect. They are rough around the edges, but still enjoyed by many. I may be 40-something & fried and outspoken, but also unique and lovable.
I will take a real, genuine and classic go to friend (or recipe) over fancy and fake any day of the week!
